Useful and worthy for trip purposes
By Mark M. Springer
I picked this up thinking it would be a good idea to brush up on what is good to see in Portland since we only had a few days. I was hoping for more selective information on the outlying areas around Portland but the lowdown on Portland was useful, exceptionally highlighting the essential “musts” as well as supplying decent maps for pre-planning.
Positives – Decent maps, good ideas, perfective for a short trip.
Improvements – necessitated more data on day trips outside of Portland, in particular since Portland is short distance from major attractions and there wasn’t good discussion of distances and time necessitated to travel like other sections.

Good

I would have liked this book to be more intra-regional and do more talking regarding the green zones around the metropolitan area but as far as detailing what’s what in Portland itself, I have no criticism. Also a great deal of nice maps came along with this book, which is handy.

A must-have for Portland travel.
By C. Stroud
This is a great resource for a short trip to Portland. The little size fits without apparent effort in a pocket or purse. We tried assorted restaurants listed in the guide and all were excellent. I suggest Jake’s seafood and Bijou Cafe for breakfast. Also check out the Mount Hood loop directions in the book–no trip to Portland will be finish without this!
