Very sturdy; only 582 combinations; guess any combining in 65 minutes
By Mark R. Lindsey
This lock feels sturdy. However, as commented elsewhere, the sequence of buttons pressed does not matter. So the combining ’12345′ is equivalent to ’54321′ or ’23451′ , etc.
It takes a 5-digit combination, a 6-digit combination, or a 7-digit combination. Your best security is with a 5-digit combining because there are 252 5-digit combinations. (10 choose 5, mathematically). There are 210 possible 6-digit combinations, and 120 possible 7-digit combinations.
Assuming that the attacker (who’s attempting to break in) doesn’t know how a great deal of digits you chose, this means there are 582 possible combinations. If we assume it takes with regards to five (5) seconds to test each one, and you take a 15-second break each minute, then an attacker could find your combining in regarding 65 minutes. (582 compoundings * 5 seconds / 45 seconds of work per minute => 65 minutes). And that’s assuming yours is the very-last combining he tries.
(Finally, my Discrete Mathematics class is paying off!)

Best key box with one minor problem
By Daniel R. Cocozza
This is the only KeySafe that I will buy. However, the newer models are painted with a very dark black-brown finish. Since the numbers for the combining buttons are likewise painted over, it is very difficult to see the numbers in daylight, and almost totally unlikely at night.

Lockbox
By mdm
Product seems adequate for our summer rental. A little but too UN-complicated however. Anyone may without apparent effort re-set the code.
